Here comes the rain....again!
Rain or shine, my garden gives me endless pleasure, hardwork and of course endless weeding! Its that time again for the Garden Bloggers' Blooming Day!
grasshopper romancing my water hyacinth a bit unusual, always see them on my okra's leaves
yellow tunera overrides my white tunera at the moment
frangipani with its sweet scent is having a blooming time this rainy season, just bought the white ones recently, the ones we can find in cemeteries...but still not blooming yet
glorious morning glory giving beautiful highlights on my mulberry bushes
the only flowering bougainvilla (only have 2) at the moment even in this rain, making my garden looking pink!
darker shade of pink...my hanging pot of perinwinkle, I have given up on these when they went bald suddenly, luckily they came back with vigour and more flowers!
last but not least, my pink periwinkle I transplated to the ground next to the pond

ReplyDeletePeriwinkle here is regarded as a weed and it just pops up everywhere. I'm forever pulling out huge clumps of it from the side garden ... I've given up in one of the old flower beds and it just reigns supreme in there now.
You have a lot of pretty blooming flowers in your garden. My favourite is also the Water Hyacinth.

ReplyDeleteIs it still raining? It has not rained for 4 days already. But I'm weeding like crazy. I like your frangipani. I only have the red variety. If you like, I can propagate for you.
ReplyDeleteYour morning glory is so gorgeous!! The blue is so blue.. love it very much!! I have one red one climbing on the arbor and fence but it does not like to bloom, hmm.. maybe i should not care them too much as they are treated like weed here haha. Your others flowers are lovely as well!

Bernie, Autumn Belle I like water hyacinth too, one of my favourites. Bernie, Im surprised that periwinkle is considered as weed DownUnder..Here you can only get varieties of colours in the nurseries!

One, it rains and drizzles but today seems so bright but your never can tell the weather nowadays. Ok we can exchange your frangipani for mine, have to try to propagate first.
Thanks Milka, I love them too, they are growing wild over my fence but once a while I will prune them since they can be so invasive.
Thanks Steph, I love frangipani and try to get a different colour as possible but my garden is too small for bigger tree.

Malar, thanks you, I love their colour too! You cant find mulberry in Sg Buloh, thats odd, cause everytime I go will always see them in poly bags. Never mind Malar, if you want I will propagate for you the next time I prune mine ok?
I always look forward to admire your kiambang my favourite. Like your frangipani colour, like to grow one too but don't have space for it as it can grow so big. So thank you for sharing all your blooms.
ReplyDeleteDiana..thanks, its my pleasure sharing my garden blooms with the rest of the bloggers out there who also will share their pretty blooms on this GBBD hosted by Carol of May Dreams Gardens! kiambang and frangipani are my favourites too.Yes frangipani can grow big, so thats why I can grow one more tree to the existing two but have to keep trimming them to get into smaller shape.
ReplyDeleteBy the way, i really like your previous post on your mulberry bush and like Malar, have actually visited the local nursery, thought of getting a tree there but unfortunately can't find any. Are the fruits yummy? Eat 'em raw? Make jam???

Milka, I can propagate for you if you want..yes the fruits are sweet when ripe, can make juice, eat raw or make jam.I will let you and Malar know once I got them growing in poly bags.
ReplyDeleteSalam Makarimi, thank you, tunera are easy to grow, just take the mature stem and stick it where you want it to grow, hardy shrubs, looks good as hedges, but dont let them grow too tall, will look scraggly.

Kathleen..thank you for visiting my garden.Yes that is Tibouchina, I have white and deep margenta. Its much easier to grow plants here as we have sun all year round!

Such a beautiful bloom on the water hyacinth.
I love the pink frangipani...a favourite plant of mine. My mother grew a yellow one in her Australian garden.
I've never seen pink periwinkle before...only blue. How beautiful it is!
Bougainvillia is another plant that stirs memories of my mother's beautiful garden. A wonderful plant!
