What's cooking on Friday

Today being Friday, Im not flaunting my blooming flowers as usual but instead Im showing what's cooking in my kitchen! Im trying out something new from Joyce, an Indian curry and rice recipes which I love very much and can eat them everyday! Its called Lemon Cardamom Rice and Balti Chicken! You can go to her Kitchen Flavours to try out a lot of new delicious recipes.

Lemon grass and cardamom pods with a bit of tumeric powder to give the rice a yellow tint...emmmm...lovely smell of the lemon grass!

Balti Chicken with my own added variations - green chillies (from my garden) cut into half, sliced potatoes and carrots and coconut milk instead of yoghurt

all the green tomatoes Im forced to harvest because the plants had wilted and dying from the scorching heat we are having now are made into a hot tangy salad below..

green tomatoes, cucumber, red and green chillies and cherry tomatoes are sliced thinly to make salad (jelatah) with pounded onion and dried shrimps, fish sauce and lime juice

walla!....a complete meal from my kitchen...sooo delicious!

Thank you Joy for sharing the wonderful, easy to follow recipes from your kitchen. I hope to try out more recipes from you!

Happy weekend to all!

I am allergic to peppers, but your meal looks like one served in a fine restaurant. A lovely, colorful presentation so artfully displayed. Just looking at it is making my mouth water, but I know better than to eat it though. I do cook with peppers for my husband and I know he would like this dish.

Wah, everything looks so delicious! Love your variation of Balti Chicken. And your salad looks really good. It is almost similar to the one my mom used to make! What a satisfying meal! I love Indian food too, my whole family (my siblings) love it, influenced by my beloved late mom as we all love spicy food, the spicier the yummier! Glad that you've enjoyed the meal!

Yes Bangchik, gardening really works out an appetite after that!

Thank you. Too bad you couldnt take hot and spicy food Donna, but it will definitely warm you up during long cold winter months!

Joy I really loved the Balti chicken, it has hot, tangy and spicy taste, my sons loved it too. Also good to take with paratha which I love.Thank you for sharing the recipe!

Look so yummy!,
Especially I 'm interested in your rice! Is it steamed with all ingredients like cardamoms?

Mmmmm it's luuk very good :) I can almost smell it /Suss

Takaeko, the rice is steamed or boiled with a few pods of cardamoms and 1 stalk of lemon grass cut into 3 sections. The lemon grass gives the rice a very nice fragrance!

Suss...yes it tastes as good as it smells!

It's past 11pm. Looking at the rice, chicken and salad...my stomach started to growl and now I can imagine what I will cook tomorrow! Most likely Balti chicken, that delicious looking salad and possibly the cardamon rice! Oh gosh, how am I to go on diet, huh? 11pm...yet, I am craving for food!
