A garden of fungi

While laying out new bricks for my new vegetable beds, I have to lift all the old wooden beams that used to be the border. Lol! what a surprise...I have my own collections of fungi in my garden! Actually 5 types of different looking fungi growing out of the wooden beams.
these caught my eyes first as they are a bright orange colour

I love these as they are as white and fluffy as a cottonball and soft to the touch, very delicate...

these are more common as I used to collect them from old tree stumps in my kampung
when I was a kid and they are sometimes sold in our local morning market
to be eaten as part of a mixed vegetables dish cooked in coconut milk

these are different from the 2nd photo as they are hard, not soft and fluffy

these too are commonly seen on old tree trunk

Since stumbling on these lovely fungi, I keep a look out for more new ones though I could not identify their names or species. I think they are lovely and are part of the flora and fauna in my garden.

Cool! I bought a mushroom growing kit for my husbands birthday and I hope they actually grow as good as yours! Are any of yours edible? Probably better not chance it!

Thanks for your comment on my blog.

You can know which are edible ones?
Fungi is so diverse that I can never tell the difference - rather its safe for me to purchase them in a supermarket than harvesting them in the wild.

I like the second one. It's like a white flower.

I am imagining, if they can move a little, they will look very much like a live coral! Very pretty!

The 3rd mushroom masak berlada macam sodap je. I used to collect similar like those in my grandmother kebun getah.

I have some growing in my pots also. But mine are small ones and are little button mushrooms. I think the cool weather is good fungi. Your garden is defintely a fertile place for them he he... Have fun discovering their names.

Deb, I love that one too..its so white and soft to touch!

Rosey, a mushroom kit, must be interesting to see them growing! Too bad we dont have them here..anyway, Im not sure whether those are edible, except maybe the 3rd photo, I think.Though Im not taking any chances..

Milka, they are a bit slimy when you touch..thats why you feel geli...hehehe

I dont James, except maybe the 3rd one, that also Im not dead sure. Anyway, I too prefer mushroom sold in the supermarket, fresh or dried ones.

Holy, I think so too..

One, I love those too, they are so white and soft like a flower.

Your are right Kitchen Flavours, they looked a bit like sea corals.

Diana, masak berlada? tak penah pulak always masak lemak putih with udang and petai. You are right they were always found near rubber tree fallen branches.

Steph, button mushrooms are so much fun to collect and nicer to eat.But make sure they are the edible kind.

I'm just barely getting good at the fungus local to me and I find that it doesn't help me at all in identifying yours. Very pretty photos though!

Eliza I was just about to message you whether you could identify any of those but I guess they are of different varieties from your temperate fungi. Thank you anyway.

Mushrooms are my favorite inside the jungle.

They mushroom after the rain.

Rainfield, I forgot that those lovely mushrooms are your favourite subject!
